If you haven’t watched Bird box on Netflix you have serious issues. The last movie that had me this suspenseful was the Will Smith classic I Am Legend, here are 3 reasons I loved this film.
- The Plot: to be blunt this movie plays with your feelings from the first action sequence your heart goes through every emotion possible. I laughed, nearly cried and checked my tampon 3 times to peep my mood!
- The Acting: Its easy to say Sandra Bullock killed it (she did) but what surprised me was the child actors. Acting in your 40s is easy but when your 5-7 years old displaying fear, sadness and shock is beyond rare. Even Machine Gun Kelly surprised me each actor in this film knew what they were doing, big ups to the casting director.
- The Pace: This film is what The Happening should have been, instead of following cliches Bird box paced itself properly, it wasn’t too fast, not too slow it was just right! It progressively makes you say WTFFFFF! My heart was traumatized and joyful by the end.
The pace, plot and acting make this movie a solid horror thriller with elements of surprise that actually build the plot instead of being gimmicks. This movie is too interesting to be a Netflix and Chill, this is a “pay attention and get in ya feelings” shmood! My only critique is that it could have been shorter. Why are you reading this blog? Go watch it now.

Marc Lamont Hill about 3 weeks ago spoke at a U.N. meeting about the issues faced by Palestinians and it can be seen here, of course in our ADD society you probably forgot this happened. A days later the the man was fired from CNN for stating a very neutral and common sense political opinion based on his research “Palestinians should be free”! Guess what happened next? The rage of social media followed him, he was called antisemitic and even had protests to get him fired at Temple University where he is a tenured professor. This PISSES me off! We live in a coward society that is willing to tear anyone down for having an opinion. Where corporations will literally fire you for thinking different and preemptively avoid a crisis by throwing away anything that does not follow the status quo. I stand with MLH!
On the other end we see LeBron James on his Instagram story listening to the beautiful 21 Savage album where he repeats “We got Jewish money, everything is Kosher (on God)” where the social media backlash forced him to write a fake apology. LeBron should NOT apologize, why? Because our society is stupid and overly sensitive over language that does not matter. LeBron James has done so much for marginalized communities that it’s ridiculous to call him antisemitic or racist but guess what: The Leftist Trolls did what they do best. Fire the digital flames over ANOTHER non-issue. I fuckin hate our society. Naturally I am very liberal and would say my political opinions are central left but when I look at how modern liberals are acting I feel applauded. When a civil rights oriented black academic and superstar philanthropic athlete are the faces of antisemitism and racism I start the question how Liberal are Liberals.
LeBron, 21 and Hill should not apologize and neither will I.
In this life it’s a beautiful thing to catch up with an old friend over some good food and a good drink, today I did that with my boy Amer! Avid reader of the blog, chill mans, gym warrior and Pizza Connoisseur here is his review of Colonnade Pizza:
From the moment we walked in the waitress gave us the stink eye. We told her we wanted to be at a table with an outlet, she let out an audible sigh. I ordered the veggie small and Jay ordered meat lovers. Once we got our Pizza bruh the cheese was so burnt that it looked like Shepard’s pie, the sauce did not even exist and the crust was rock hard. At the end we paid and left but the waitress did not even say thank you she just dipped. She treated all the other customers around us with respect but us like animals. Regardless the pizza was trash but if the customer service was good I would have been more generous.
Overall experience: 3/10
This is gonna surprise you (and me) I don’t always listen to pop rap, matter of fact I love underground artists and locals but I have to keep it real: out of all the new school artists A Boogie Wit The Hoodie has always been my favorite. I was late on the Hoodie wave, when I first heard “Jungle” and “Timeless” in fall 2016 I feel in love (no homo). This won’t be a track by track review but I’ll break down my highlights and the (few) low lights of this album.
From the first track “Voices in my head” I knew that fire was gonna penetrate my ears, I remember No Promises off The Bigger Picture a classic song I play to this day and I got similar vibes from Voices. Swervin, Startender, Pull Up and Come Closer are my favorite collab tracks with 6ix9ine, Nav, Offset, Queen Naija and Tyga (yes the former King of Ls) synch perfectly with Boogie’s melodic style. I would have loved another Kodak Black feature but for the most part the features are placed perfectly. Looking at Boogie’s solo tracks Billie Jean, 4 min convo and Look back at it are memorable and BANGERZ with 4 min convo being his most honest real rap song, when he quoted Timeless I nearly nutted in my damn jeans (no homo).
Personally I feel that Boogie does too many features, the Young Thug song Just Like Me was useless and I hate to say this but Don Q disappointed off Bosses and Workers. I like Don Q too, it just wasn’t the right beat for him. Even Demons and Angels had no need for Juicewrld, he made the song worse, sidenote fuck Juicewrld I hate him, he trash (if you like him don’t read my music reviews ever). Boogie could have trimmed 5 songs and this record would still be a top 10 album of the year, spoiler alert this album is going to be on my top 10 albums of 2019.
We were debating the King of R&B (NO IT AINT JACQUEES) but we need to ask ourselves the real question “who is the king of melodic rap?” I’ll help you: his name is A Boogie Wit The Hoodie. He gifted us this amazing album just in time for Christmas, listen to it now.

I remember being a kid in the east of OT and passing by this bar called Camillo’s (an old school Italian pizza spot/pub) at 902 Shefford Road but I never went in. Why? It looked boring, spot for old alcoholic white men, and that’s not my scene bruh. One day I passed by and found out that it was switched to Dunn’s if you know me you know i LOVE Dunn’s (PPL. Nightclub, if you know you know 😉 ! I love breakfast food, so I went a few times here is my honest review:
What I ate the last time
Medium Canadian pizza (bacon, pepperoni and mushrooms) 14.99$ and pitchers of Alexander Keiths, about 15$
The cheese on the pizza was amazing, gushy and soft I feel in love! I found out that the owners of Camillo’s kept the same pizza menu and it shows because it felt authentic and amazing. Reminded me of old school Gabes pizza, soft crust, hella cheese and a great meat combo.
Great service, the servers were super friendly every time I go. On top of that the service is fast, right after our last pour of Keiths a server was already at our table with one ready. I even got to talk to the owner randomly talked football with me, loved it (dude was a Steelers fan, homie loses points for that).
I like their breakfast menu but what stood out to me was their pizza, they had that authentic vibe, this isn’t Dominos, Gaberial or paper thin Pizza Pizza this is the real shit. I’d be satisfied if the food was good but the service took it over the top, out of all the spots I’ve reviewed so far this is the best one. Great for a squad link up after a rough week.

About two weeks ago I reviewed one of my favorite bars on campus, F&S, this was my 3rd most popular post this year. I know why. My readers are friends and University of Ottawa students that hit up this bar and they related to my post, but so did the Manager of F&S. I won’t write his name because our conversation was off the record, but I want to make 3 things clear about my review:
- My blog is my blog: Straight up from the very beginning this is my blog and I’m entitled to my own damn opinion! I write about anything and everything, the fact that this manager took offense to my post says more about him and his establishment than me, a 23-year-old university grad with some clout. I can write what I want, how I feel and anything in between. If you don’t like it, get the fuck out.
- My reviews are not bias: the manager accused me of flirting with a waitress and making her uncomfortable which is why I hated service at F&S. Two things I want to make clear, I’m professional when I deal with servers I don’t flirt or act weird straight up. Any interactions I had with any waitress OUT OF HER WORKPLACE will never affect my reviews. On top of that good customer service should be required no matter who the customer is.
- Being professional: One thing I’d like to add, my blog is for entertainment I read my old posts and laugh because they’re funny, but I also keep it professional. This manager took my review as a hit piece and an attack, it wasn’t. It was my honest POV on a popular bar. Instead of being professional, he attacked my style and blog. One thing about me is I’m a man and I stand ten toes down, I stick with what I wrote and I will always keep it professional, never personal.
Since it opened in 2016 I’ve always been curious about trying out The Big Rig on 1980 Oglivie road, its right next to my place and its a bar, combining three things I love, food, alcohol and short distances. But is it worth your money?
What I ate
Chop Chop Burger 14.99$ with Caesar salad and one of their Local Beers Release the hounds 6.50$
The burger was alright, the buns were basically tiny little sheets and it was messy on my last 3 bites. I love pickles (no homo) so it was weird putting it in the burger but the salad and beer made up for it. I LOVED the beer, as a Guinness fan this beer had some character and the salad was A1!
This is a bar, I expected absolute trash service considering I came at happy hour and I went alone (pro tip to men: show up to bars with WOMEN, you don’t have to pay for her but the servers and bartenders will treat you better cause they assume you’re tryna smash) the bartender was chill. BUT THE WAIT TIME WAS INSANE, this wasn’t even a busy night and I almost finished my 40 word Crossword puzzle. It pissed me off.
This is a squad type of bar and the crowd is 40-50 year old divorcees meeting up their Christian Mingle/eHarmony date. If you’re between 20-35 do not go here unless y’all have nowhere else to go or love beers, this bar is the physical manifestation of “meh”
